Background
CrossFit Lupos owner Chris Impagliazzo had been searching for a security and access control solution that would allow him to protect his 6,000-square-foot gym facility and 175 members while also enabling him to step away from the business when needed to take meetings, run errands, and grow the business. He also wanted to introduce a key fob system that gives members greater flexibility when they go to the gym, offering longer gym opening hours without recruiting additional staff to be on site.
The Challenge
CrossFit Lupos is a large, glass-fronted building with 175 members that offers flexible, round-the-clock access to anyone wishing to work on their strength and conditioning. This includes minors who train with parents or other adults at the gym. Owner Chris Impagliazzo needed a way to remotely monitor the gym while off-site and provide key fobs to members who want flexible access outside of staffed hours. The large gym occupies much of the 6,000 sq ft. footprint, with the remainder being office space and changing room facilities. The gym's facade is a glass front with five ceiling-to-floor bay doors. The gym's fitness equipment can be expensive to replace if damaged or stolen, and misuse can lead to injury. The security system could provide a way to observe how members were using equipment and confirm what had happened if anything was damaged.
The Solution
