Keep your organization’s calendar up to date for accurate scheduling and access management through SONITROL CORE. You can quickly add holidays to your organization’s calendar using existing types, such as national, state, or school holidays.
In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through how to add, edit, and manage holidays within your organization’s calendar.
Step 1: Verify you’re in the correct organization
Before adding a holiday, confirm that you're working within the appropriate organization. This ensures that any changes you make are applied to the correct calendar.
Step 2: Navigate the calendar
To access your organization's calendar:
- Open the Navigation Pane
- Scroll down to Schedules
- Select Calendars
This will take you to the calendar management area where holidays can be added and maintained.
Step 3: Confirm the correct calendar
Once in the Calendars section:
- Verify that the calendar displayed belongs to the correct organization
- Review the calendar before making any modifications
Taking a moment to confirm the correct calendar helps prevent scheduling errors.
Step 4: Add a holiday using an existing type
To add a holiday:
- Click on the desired date
- Review the available holiday types
- Select the appropriate holiday type
- Click Add
For example, to designate December 25 as a holiday, select National Holiday and click Add. The holiday will then appear on the calendar immediately.
Step 5: Add multiple holiday types to the same date
Some organizations may need to assign more than one holiday type to a date.
For example, if a school plans to close in addition to a national holiday:
- Select School Holiday
- Click Add Day
The date will now include both holiday designations, allowing for more detailed scheduling and reporting.
Step 6: Edit or remove a holiday
If a holiday needs to be updated or removed:
- Click on the holiday entry in the calendar
- Select Edit to make changes
- Select Remove Holiday (trash can icon) to delete it
Step 7: Add a holiday using the menu
SONITROL CORE also supports an alternative method for adding holidays:
- Click Holiday
- Select the desired date from the calendar
- Choose a holiday type
- Click Add
For example, you can select a future date and designate it as a state holiday using this method.
