How to Create a Schedule in SONITROL CORE

Creating schedules in SONITROL CORE is essential for managing when your system is active and how it behaves throughout the week. Whether you’re setting standard business hours or configuring custom monitoring periods, schedules help ensure your system works exactly when you need it.

In this step-by-step guide, we’ll walk you through how to create a schedule from start to finish. You can also watch this tutorial on our YouTube channel.

Step 1: Confirm you’re in the right organization

Before creating a new schedule, the first and most important step is to verify that you’re working in the correct organization. This ensures your schedule is applied to the right environment and prevents unnecessary rework later.

Step 2: Go to the schedules section

To start, open the Navigation Pane.

Then, scroll down and select Schedules.

You’ll notice a default schedule (such as “Always”) already exists. To create a new schedule, click Add Schedule.

Step 3: Name your schedule

Next, give your schedule a clear and descriptive name. For example: “Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.”

A well-named schedule makes it easier to identify later, especially if you manage multiple schedules.

You can also add tags to improve searchability and reporting capabilities.

Step 4: Configure basic settings

Before entering time intervals, confirm that your:

  • Organization is correct
  • Schedule type is set appropriately

In this example, we use a 24-hour time format instead of AM/PM. This provides more precision and consistency across configurations.

Step 5: Set time for a single day

To manually add time:

  1. Click on a day
  2. Select the three-dot menu
  3. Adjust the time using:
  4. Arrow controls, or
  5. Direct keyboard input
  6. Save your changes

If you don’t immediately see your time block, don’t worry! You may need to scroll because of the 24-hour layout.

Pro tip: Make your schedule easier to read by enabling Show Work Hours Only. This will remove clutter and make your time blocks easier to manage.

Step 6: Apply time across multiple days

You can’t drag a time block across multiple days to duplicate it. Instead, this moves the block to a different day.

So, you need to create an interval through the following steps:

  1. Delete the existing single-day entry
  2. Select Create Interval
  3. Choose all desired days (e.g., Monday–Friday)
  4. Enter your time range (7:00–17:00)
  5. Create the interval

Step 7: Review and create schedule

Before you finalize your schedule, be sure to review the following:

  • Schedule name
  • Confirm the organization
  • Verify all days and times

Once you’re ready, click Create to save your schedule.

Step 8: Edit, copy, or delete schedules

After creating your schedule, you can manage it using the three-dot menu:

  • Edit to make changes
  • Delete if no longer needed
  • Copy to quickly create a similar schedule
