(April 03, 2006) - Sonitrol
Corporation, the leader in verified electronic security, today
announced the acquisition of the territory and operating rights of its
Peoria, Illinois dealership, Sonitrol of Peoria. This acquisition is
significant because it expands Sonitrol Corporation's direct footprint
in the Mid-West.
"Each acquisition we make furthers our goals of building a
world-class sales channel," said Kevin Dowd, Sonitrol Chairman and CEO.
"The combination of our direct sales force, our National Account team,
and our outstanding Franchise Network gives us one of the strongest
channels in the industry. Strategically, this acquisition allows us to
expand our direct coverage in the Mid-West region, which we have
identified as a high-growth area."
Sonitrol of Peoria Owner Stephen Knobeloch will stay on with Sonitrol Corporation through the transition process.
"We are very pleased Stephen Knobeloch will be joining the company,"
said Dowd. "His knowledge of the security industry and the Peoria
market make him a tremendous asset to the company. As with every
acquisition we make, we will work closely with local school officials,
business owners and police to ensure a seamless transition. With
